Power & Politics

''Power & Politics'' is a Canadian television news program focused on national politics, which airs daily on CBC News Network from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays.〔("Solomon to host new Newsworld show" ). ''The Globe and Mail'', July 16, 2009.〕
The program's original host was Evan Solomon. In September 2011, Rosemary Barton was added as host of the program's Friday edition after Solomon was also named host of CBC Radio One's ''The House''. Barton also served as substitute host on other days if Solomon was unavailable, and other CBC political journalists occasionally filled in as well.
Since Solomon's departure from the CBC on June 9, 2015,〔("CBC host Evan Solomon fired after Star investigation finds he took secret cut of art deals" ). ''Toronto Star'', June 9, 2015.〕 Barton is serving as the interim host of the show, with Terry Milewski as a back-up.〔("CBC Ottawa bureau reeling after loss of Solomon in ‘brutal year’" ). ''The Hill Times'', June 15, 2015.〕 The program has not yet officially named a new permanent host.
